I just wanted to pass along my sincere Thanks to Mr. McCann and Mr. McDonough for their extraordinary efforts in this initiative. After 20+ years of policing, I can attest to the recent challenges to stay motivated in my service to the public. Police have been under intense scrutiny over the past few years. The frustrating part is that the men and women I work with are only deserving of praise. There are a very few examples of police wrong doing. I want to ensure you that we stand together to denounce those instances. “Bad Cops” are an embarrassment to the uniform and the community. It will not be tolerated. The public are becoming aware that much of the bad publicity that police organizations face is a form of manipulation by “gas lighting” and peddling misinformation. Like the public, I am forced to look beneath the surface to understand the facts before coming to any conclusion.
I received my challenge coin today, #2518. I am left wondering which supportive member of the community shares this coin. To them I offer my additional Thanks. Your support, and the support of Beacons of Hope, reminds me of how important it is to serve this community as a police officer. Every decision I make, every action I take, is done in consideration of this community. My goal remains keeping Calgarians safe when and where I can. I am always “on duty”.
