I’m an elementary school teacher, and one day my class was outside playing a game of kickball. As we played a police car came around the corner, and pulled up. The two officers came out and joined us in our game. To say the kids were thrilled would be an understatement!! Here were these two heroes in my students eyes, taking the time to play, cheer and just have fun. It was the highlight of our day, and we talked about it for a long time afterwards. It just showed them that police officers care not only about keeping us safe, but also about them as kids. Amazing, upstanding role models, I’m so grateful for that moment.
