A Brighter Future for All Youth

This year, Beacons of Hope will be supporting two incredible charities and organizations in our community that are lifting up the next generation of Calgarians every single day.

We are partnering with the Calgary Police Youth Foundation and the YouthLink Calgary Police Interpretive Centre to continue their mission of inspiring the next generation of Calgarians to be safe, to live securely, to be smart and to be successful.

YouthLink Calgary Police Interpretive Centre is home to Calgary Police Service stories, from past to the present. They are a leader in crime prevention education and offer many programs to experience.

For more than 18 years, YouthLink Calgary Police Interpretive Centre has been engaging and empowering Calgary’s youth to make confident and positive choices surrounding some of the greatest challenges they shall ever face – namely substance abuse, digital citizenship, healthy relationships and gang awareness.

We impart tools, strategies and resources through experiential learning exhibits at the Centre, interactive online resources, and engaging programming. Not only do our programs meet the learning objectives of the Grade 6 Alberta Education curriculum, YouthLink also plays a key role in the Calgary Police Service – Crime Prevention and Reduction Continuum. The core of what we do is proactive and preventative.

About the CPYF

The Calgary Police Youth Foundation is a registered charity with a purpose to educate children and youth about good citizenship, safe communities, policing and avoiding victimization and criminality. We accomplish this goal by supporting child-youth programming and community initiatives that provide education, prevention, early intervention and risk reduction resources for children and youth ages 5 to 18.

These seven programs are delivered by the Calgary Police Service (CPS) with the help of community partners such as the City of Calgary, Calgary Neighbourhoods, and Alberta Health Services.

We believe that the crime prevention, education, and intervention programs delivered by the Calgary Police Service and other community partners are best in class. They provide a blueprint model for other police services across Canada to follow and CPYF is proud to collaborate with Calgary Police Service for the benefit of children and youth in our city.
