Messages of Appreciation

Maybe you had an interaction with a Calgary Police Service member that you would like to thank them for, or maybe you’d just like to show your support? Regardless, we need your help to let the members of the Calgary Police Service know what they mean to Calgarians. It is our hope that these messages – long or short – uplift all CPS members and provide hope in times of darkness.

The “thin blue line” is a very appropriate symbol for the Calgary Police Service. They do an often boring, occasionally terrifying job which is critical to the maintenance of the safe urban environment that we mostly take for granted. Right now, our police force is dealing with internal and external frustrations that are apparently depressing moral. Let’s let them know that overall they are doing a job that is sincerely appreciated by the majority of our community.

Thank for keeping our communities safe. I know that yours is a tough job and in-spite of these challenges the members of Calgary’s Police Service remain committed to the job. I believe most Calgarian’s support and applaud your work and having seen and read about your good work, I do applaud you.

As an Associated Member of the Canadian Association Chiefs of Police I have known and worked with (as a contractor) the Calgary Police. I had many friends who were members including the Chiefs from Ernie Reimer to Rick Hanson.
All members I have known or met have my utmost support and appreciation. Having spent over 31 years in the Armed Forces, I am happy I chose that occupation rather than becoming a police officer who places their lives on the line every day they come to work.
I can just say THANK YOU for protecting me and all citizens, equally. Your are the real HERO’s and we owe you every bit of support!

Years ago i was in trouble and I was a poor neighbour. I had an encounter or two with our police. Each time i was surprised, shocked really, that all the police wanted to do was help me. I am grateful for that. It made difference.

My hope is that activists who are demanding change focus on the tremendous good that the CPS does and work cooperatively and positively with all stakeholders to make us all better. Together, with a little more love and a little less condemnation, we can do it.

Thanks for everything you do. If it wasn’t for the “Thin Blue Line”, where would we be as a society? I respectfully ask the naysayers to walk a mile in your shoes!

Keep up the good work.

As a serving member of CPS I want to say thank you to every single person who has taken the time to write a message on here. It truly means so much to read uplifting messages and just to be able to scroll through and see how many have been written. We all do this job for you and will be there when you call, but I hope we never have to meet. Take care of yourselves, Calgary, and thank you for what you are doing through this Beacon of Hope.

A police officer saved me from a very dangerous domestic violence attack. He took my abuser away and got me a restraining order. Because of him I was able to leave that violent relationship safely and he was there in court many months later, after working a night shift, still making me feel safe. Thank you all for everything you do to protect the people of our city.

Thank you Calgary police. A tough job often with little support as you protect residents from criminals who are treated too leniently by the courts.

Thank you to our wonderful police force in Calgary who regularly put their lives on the line to make our city a safer place. Yours seems to be a thankless role, unfortunately. But I for one, stand with you, appreciate you and support you fully. May you know that the ‘silent majority’ really do value your service.

over the years, my interactions with Calgary Police have been nothing but positive and very gracious…sure there is a Constable who is having ‘one of those days’…you know, show a little understanding and they will give you that smile that kinda says ‘thanks’…but I’ll tell you, when a citizen is in peril no one steps up to the plate like a Calgary Police Constable !!! ps: the ‘thin blue line’ badge, wear it proudly because it’s only meant to show respect for the fallen, and I support you guys/gals whole heartedly…the thin blue line should NEVER be politicized…stand your ground…your fallen colleagues/friends/brothers/sisters appreciate it…

I appreciate everything our Calgary Police Force does to maintain a safe city. It is very unfortunate that a few loud voices at times drown out the appreciation the rest of us have for our police officers in the challenging work and dangers they face every day.

Thank you to the Calgary Police Service, especially our School Resource Officers, who work hard each and every day to keep our schools safe. We especially appreciate the time and efforts placed in developing relationships with our youth. May God continue to watch over the entire CPS staff and keep them from harms way as they do the important work of keeping Calgary peaceful.
